This will loosen any hard stains and burnt food in the pot. After a few hours, you can remove the pot and scrub with soapy hot water. If you pot or pan isn’t in terrible condition, then this will leave it looking like new.
2. Vinegar and Baking Soda
If boiling water and scrubbing doesn’t work then use a simple trick with vinegar and baking soda. You can either make a spray from white vinegar and baking soda, spray and leave to soak before scrubbing away the dirt or leave the pan to boil with white vinegar and baking soda to loosen up burnt stains from inside the pot. If the bottom of the pot is burnt then make a thick paste with water and baking soda and scrub until it all comes off.
3. Polish Your Stainless Steel Cookware
In order to keep the clean look of stainless steel after cleaning and boiling you should polish your pots and pans. This can be done with any oven cleaner or polisher from your local retail store. Additionally, if you prefer to go the softer route then drop some olive oil onto a cotton rag and polish away. This will also give your pot a nonstick coating. After applying olive oil, rub with a rag dipped in white vinegar. This will also leave your stainless steel cookware looking like new.
4. Wash and Polish on A Regular Basis
If you want to take good care of your stainless steel cookware, then the idea is to make a routine of boiling the stains away and polish regularly. This routine could be done once a week or every two weeks depending on how much you use the pan. You can leave the pot to boil with hot water while you are doing other household chores and then give it a quick polish when you are done. This will save you a lot of time in the long run.
5. Clean After Every Use
Last but not least make sure you clean the pot or pan after every single use. Soak in hot water and use dish soap and a cloth to clean and wash after you have finished your cooking task. A lot of the time you might just rinse it with water or leave the pot a few days before you get to clean it. The quicker you wash it; the better kept it will be.
